Pearl Island of Guiuan, Eastern Samar

I learned about this island from a colleague in the office. It is actually an experimental pearl farm operated by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR). I wish I could visit it soon, from the picture, it seems to be a rather bucolic place.

  1. I've been in this island already last jan 1, 2009. We don't care about the storm Auring during that time, we dived around this island with our Dive Master Manong James. Grabe....... Ang Ganda! andaming giant clams! Nakakamiss ang Guiuan, the warm people around, the sites and adventures. Sana makabalik ako...

  2. Good for you. I haven't gone there myself and I doubt I would see the wonders you speak of underwater as I'm not a diver, but am happy that there are people out there who appreciate our local "riches". I do hope you return.

  6. I'm from Eastern Samar but I've never been to Guiuan. I'm going home for a vacation next summer(2013) and I'm thinking of exploring samar. Hmm, who wanna join with me? Wala akong kasama. so, I'm looking for a group of people who's interested.
